# Ad Configuration

## **Ad configuration**

Ads can be used to enrich your video assets with content from external service providers (e.g., targeted commercials).

**Ad types**

You can define whether video ads are embedded as pre-roll, mid-roll, or post-roll. It is possible to define pre-, mid-, and post-roll at the same time with one single video ad or different video ads. For example, if you have entered a URL for pre-roll and one URL for post-roll, the video ad will appear at the beginning and end of the video.
