The following content applies to the Security Policy, which is found in the administration area.
Description
Company-specific security policies for video playback on the internet play a key role in preventing unauthorized use and distribution of your videos, as well as protecting sensitive data.
As an administrator, you can define security settings in the account. These policies can be set at the video level or as a global security policy.
Global security settings will always be overridden by video-specific security settings.
Create a globally-applicable security policy
In the navigation pane, click Security Policies.
Click Create.
Type a name for the security setting and click Create.
Set additional parameters (see the below section "edit a security policy").
Edit a security policy
Select the desired policy in the list of security policies.
You can edit the following fields:
name
description
HMAC implementation required
Please keep in mind that an HMAC implementation is necessary for the playout of token-protected videos. For more information see this article in the Developer’s Guide.
referrer protection: To include subdomain referrers, enter a valid referrer with a wildcard in the text box provided. For example, to include referrers from all subdomains of website.com, enter *.website.com.)
referrer settings: To test a referrer locally, enter "localhost".
Globally enable a security policy
Default global policy
If a video-specific security policy has not been defined, the global policy will apply.
Navigate to the Account Overview
In the Global Security Policy drop-down menu (found under Global Settings), select the desired policy.
Click Save.
Delete a security policy
Navigate to Security Policies.
Select the desired policy in the list of security policies.
Click Delete.
Confirm the deletion.
Deletion of active security policy or global security policy
If the selected security policy is still in use or has been defined as the global security policy, it cannot be deleted.
