Video on demand

Article summary

Description

After your live stream event has concluded, you can make the recorded video available to viewers as a video-on-demand (VOD) using the same event URL and embed codes.

This allows viewers to access the recorded event content on-demand, even after the live stream has ended.

Prerequisites

Event Editor Rights: You must have Event Editor permissions to enable the video-on-demand (VOD) option.

VideoManager Pro Account: You must have access to a VideoManager Pro account to select the VOD video.

Steps

  1. In the event list, click on an event that has already ended:

  2. You will then see the event in outro/post-live mode. You will see the following information:

    • Total streaming time

    • Total viewers

    • Viewers at peak

    • Report download

    • Event recording (if recording was enabled in the event setup)

  3. To select a Video on Demand, click on Select video.

  4. In the following dialog, select the desired VideoManager Pro account:

  5. Within the account, select the published video recording of the event. Ensure the video that you have already published this video using your VideoManager Pro account.

  6. You will then see the selected video in the Video-On-Demand section. Where needed, you can also change the video:

  7. Click Switch to On-Demand to confirm to switch your event to On-Demand mode. Viewers will then see the selected video whenever they access the URL.

    On-Demand

Once you enable On-Demand mode, viewers will access the selected VOD video whenever they visit the event URL.

You cannot revert to Outro/Post-Live mode once On-Demand mode is activated.

    Slides

If the recorded video contains slides metadata, the slides will be displayed alongside the video playback.
