# Embedding

Before you begin

The Embedding tab enables you to configure restrictions of your event when you embed your event on another website or application.

Note that embedding the event will affect the layout of the Viewer app.

#### Restrict embedding

To permit access only to browsers referred from specific domains, click "Restrict Embedding".

          How to use

You can add either a fully-qualified domain such as www.movingimage.com, or a wildcard domain such as *.movingimage.com.* In the second case, note that the wildcard * implies any subdomain of movingimage.com. You should not enter the protocol *http://* or *https://.**

Each value entered is validated. Note that if

- valid values may be added to the allowed list.
- invalid entries will be highlighted with a red border.

#### Require token authentication

This security feature ensures that only authorized users are able to access a protected and embedded event.

Specifically, this feature verifies if the HMAC token provided by the Viewer is valid.

Generating tokens should happen in a third-party application like Staffbase. Your unique secret is required to generate a valid token. You can find the secret in the channel settings.

Speak to your Account Manager for further details.
