Publishing Videos with the Player

Article summary

The player introduces enhanced Publishing options, providing additional settings before embedding and sharing videos. Follow these steps to share a video using the updated functionality:

Accessing the Publishing Options

  1. Navigate to the Publish section in VMPro.

  2. Select the player you want to use to share the video. If you select new player, you will see the menu as shown

Sharing the video with new player

  1. Sharing with i-frame

Use this option to embed your video on external websites. Just copy the i-frame embed code provided for your video.

  • Responsive i-frame - Toggle this option to make your i-frames responsive.

When you toggle the option to make your i-frames responsive in the New Player, the i-frame automatically adjusts its dimensions to fit the container it's placed in, regardless of the screen size or orientation. This eliminates the need for manually setting height and width values

  • Aspect Ratio of i-frame - Select and fix the aspect ratio of your embedded video to maintain consistent proportions on your webpages. When "Video" is selected in the drop-down menu, the i-frame inherits the video's original aspect ratio. This ensures the embedded container adjusts perfectly to the video content.

  1. Share with Page Link

If you prefer to share the video via a direct page link, use this option.

  • Hide Video Title on Page: Toggle this option to show or hide the video title on the share page

  • Hide Video Description: Toggle to show or hide the video description on the share page

  • Start Time: Specify a starting point for the video by entering a time in one of the following formats:

    • mm:ss

    • hh:mm:ss
This allows viewers to start the video from a specific point

  • Click to copy the direct URL for sharing

Note: These customisations apply only to the share page and do not affect the i-frame embed code.

With these options, sharing and embedding videos in your projects is more flexible and intuitive than ever. Use the new player features to create responsive, consistent, and customisable video experiences!
