# Uploading a video in VMPro

### Local Video Upload

You can upload a video to your account in different ways:

- Upload smaller videos (up to approximately 1 GB) with the web browser.
- Upload larger videos or multiple video files with the FTP server.

You can find information about video settings in [Recommended Video Settings](/v1/docs/recommended-video-settings).

If the upload process is interrupted, (for example, the browser has been closed or there is a problem with your WLAN connection) you don't need to upload the entire video again. The upload process continues where the upload was interrupted. Find out more in this [article](/v1/docs/replacing-a-video). VMPro automatically detects if the selected file corresponds to the file that was originally selected.

### Steps

To upload a video from your local drive,

1. Click on the [Upload] button in the video toolbar.
2. Select the desired video file from your local directory, and then click on the [Open] button to start the upload process.

3. You can see the transcoding progress based on the corresponding progress bar in the "Video Formats" accordion menu.

You can also add a video file via drag and drop. First, select the desired file in your local directory and drag it while holding the left mouse button in the video list. The upload process starts when you release the mouse button.

Cancel an existing upload

If you want to cancel an upload that has already started, click the [X] button at the top of the video box. The upload will be canceled.
