With the slide synchronization feature, slides can be displayed alongside the livestream player. This allows all participants to see crystal-clear slides that do not become pixelated if the quality of the livestream is reduced for the user.
Setting up Slides
If you want to use the slide synchronization feature, you must upload your slides in the ‘Media’ tab when setting up your livestream event. After uploading, you will immediately receive a preview of the slides and can check whether all images and fonts have been uploaded correctly. If your event is taking place in multiple languages, you can also upload a translated presentation for each individual language. Please make sure that all presentations have the same number of slides.
Please note:
The uploaded slides are converted into images (.png), therefore effects and animations will be removed.
Controlling the slides in live-state
If you have uploaded at least one presentation for your event, you can control these slides in the LiveStream Pro Operator. There you can find a new tab named ‘Presentation’. If you click on this tab, you will see an overview of all uploaded slides. As soon as your event goes live, you can select a slide and push it to the livestream.
Please note
The slides are synchronized with your encoder signal. This means that if you want to advance the slides in perfect synchronization, you should publish the slides exactly when the speaker announces the slide. If your stream has a 20 second delay the slides will also be delayed for 20 seconds.
You can publish slides, if you hover with your mouse over the next slide. If click the ‘Publish to stream’ button the slide will be published after a short delay.
Editing slide cue-points for On-Demand state
If an error occurred while publishing the slides during the livestream, you can still adjust the slide cue points after an event. You can find this ‘Adjust cue points’ window in the event summary if you have used the slide synchronization feature for your livestream.
In the cue point editor you can see all of your published slides and timecodes. You then have the option to change the cue point for each slide or delete slides entirely.
